where it all began.... in 2002. my friend had just had her first baby
and I wanted to give her something really special. something with her baby's name on it
and something she just might like to have forever. I searched the internet and local boutiques
but could not find anything affordable and adorable. I got an idea to make her gift instead.

growing up my mom always had creative projects for us to do. I remember cross-stitching
at a very young age and was intrigued how all those little x's made one design.
though my embroidery does not involve x's, I do thank my mom for teaching me
the basic fundamentals of stitching. without knowing how to
cross-stitch, this business would have never started.
I also must thank my dad, too, as he always was "doodling".
he used to take me shopping for pens and we would doodle together and write
out our names. I believe this gave me the vision for tiny sprouts because
I do not use patterns. it all comes out just as I would doodle with my dad.

so back to the gift for my friend. I gave her a onesie with her daughter's name on it
and she loved it. she thought I should sell them and I thought I wasn't ready.
one day I decided I was and my sister, our friend mandy
and I came up with the name, tiny sprouts. I started out with just onesies, hats and bibs.
in october of 2005, I placed my first ad in pregnancy magazine in hopes
of gaining business. well, it did just that. this has now become my career and I love it.
